If we approach life from a position of healthy self-esteem we can find greater satisfaction, experience greater resilience and withstand higher levels of stress. Why, then, do we often approach life from a perspective that doubts self, piling up negatives around our abilities and discounting our potential? In this talk, Bruce Cairnie encourages living with healthy self-esteem through taking hold of self-worth, self-love and our capacity for growth, using the affirmation “Be yourself, everyone else is taken” as he enjoins listeners to be courageous enough to be themselves.
“As a clinical counselor, stress and resilience coach, Bruce is committed to supporting people in their efforts to resist the impact of stress and trauma and to thrive in the midst of life. He provides individual and group experiences for developing personal resilience and for learning to manage stress.
Also having extensive experience as a trauma and critical incident responder, he supports people dealing with critical incidents in workplaces within many different sectors, including corrections, health care, education, business and industry.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
